
The Citadel
Crowning the hill at the very centre of the island, the Cittadella has watched over Gozo since the Bronze Age, and its golden bastions are visible from almost every village. Inside the walls you'll find the 17th-century cathedral, a maze of silent alleys, little museums and gun posts with 360° views that reach the sea in every direction. Come up an hour before sunset, when the limestone glows and the church domes light up across the valleys below.
