How we handle the personal data you share when you enquire or book with us.

Who we are
Victoria Garage Car & Bicycle Hire(“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data described below. We operate from Triq Taħt Putirjal, Victoria (Rabat), Gozo VCT 1342, Malta. What we collect and why
We only collect what you choose to send us through our enquiry and booking forms or by contacting us directly:
- Contact & booking details — your name, phone number, email address and the details of your enquiry (dates, vehicle/bike, pick-up location, message). We use these to respond to you and arrange your booking. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Driving licence image (optional, car hire) — if you choose to upload a photo or scan of a driving licence, we use it only to prepare your rental and verify eligibility. Lawful basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. You do not have to provide it online — you may instead show it on collection.
How your enquiry is handled
Form submissions are sent to us by email through Resend, our email delivery provider, who processes the message on our behalf. Resend may process and store the data outside the EEA; where that happens it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The enquiry then resides in our email inbox. We do not store enquiry data in any other database.
Reviews and maps
Our home page may display our public Google rating and reviews, fetched on our server from the Google Places API. Our contact and about pages embed a Google Map — loading it shares data with Google under Google’s privacy policy. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your request and for our records, then delete it. Any driving-licence image is deleted once your rental is complete [confirm exact retention period].
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@victoriagaragegozo.com. You also have the right to complain to Malta’s Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last reviewed” date above shows when it last changed.
